Rules of the road to happiness at work

Hollywood Village is a partnership between the Church of Scientology, the Path to Happiness Foundation, the Los Angeles Police Department, local businesses, and numerous faith and neighborhood groups committed to keeping Hollywood beautiful, safe, and clean. When Hollywood Village volunteers learned that LA Fire Station 76 needed help with a project, they were quick to accept it.

Hollywood Village volunteers joined firefighters and a landscape architect to transform LAFD Fire Station 76.

Fire Station 76 is located north of the Hollywood Bowl, south of Universal City Walk, and just off the Hollywood Freeway. Fire stations undergo a lot of wear and tear and this needs some TLC. The crew completed the interior renovation piece by piece, but the fire chief knew they would need some help to tackle the exterior. Led by a landscape architect, Hollywood Village volunteers worked with firefighters. The difference between before and after was impressive.

Together they cut and removed years of overgrowth, dead brush, roots and weeds and maintained the lawn and flower box. After a lot of hard work, a new, well-maintained landscape was created around the fire station.

Firefighters have made it their mission to save lives. These are the men and women who provide fire protection and rescue. They are fighting fires across the city and Los Angeles' notorious wildfires and wildfires. They are also ambulance drivers, paramedics, and paramedics who provide emergency medical assistance. This is day and night, every day of the year.

Hollywood Village volunteers live by the Road to Happiness, a non-religious ethical code based entirely on common sense. Written by author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard wrote the book in 1981 to stop the moral decay in society and restore integrity and trust.

The book's 21 basic principles or commandments are a simple guide that people of any culture or religion can use to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of others.

While the cleanup is underway, the Hollywood Village has put several rules of the road to happiness into practice:

Rule 6, Lead by Example; Rule 12: Protect and improve your environment; Rule 16: Be diligent; The twentieth rule: Try to treat others the way you would like to be treated.

Not only did they achieve what they set out to do, but they also made new friends. The completed project brought as much joy to the volunteers as it did to the men and women of the fire station.
