Sixto Roll & Write review, test and critique

For example: six from the originator QwixxSteven Bendorf? It looks similar from the packaging. Once we open it up, some similarities are undeniable. It doesn't mean anything, because after all we've heard Qwixx For me, it's one of my “all-time favorites” and I still enjoy playing it a lot even after all this time. But at first I approached Sixto with skepticism because I don't like the game's ideas to be repeated. There's no room left on a very full shelf for the 10th edition of the game, no matter how small the box. So Sixto (Kindy Games) has something new that interests me? Perhaps also because Florian Bendorf was named as co-author?

How to play Sixto game

Rows of numbers in different colours, matching colored blocks and pens to identify objects – everything up to that point is the same. But in Sixto there are 6 cubes of different colors and six rows of numbers. The numbers in the rows are mixed, not consecutive. You roll all the colored dice the first time and decide whether or not you want to roll all the dice again.

You then need to decide whether or not you want to select the appropriate color numbers in your class. You can also leave the numbers blank here. But: come back later? This does not exist. Because every cross brings points, both horizontally and vertically. The last three consecutive numbers may not be crossed out unless four crossed numbers have already been placed.

If two numbers are specified in this last section, the row becomes as in Qwixx Closed and the dice are removed from the game. This row is now gone and crosses can no longer be placed there. When three dice roll, the game ends.

Points are now assigned to crosses in rows and columns. 1 cross gives you -5, nothing, 2 crosses gives you 0 points and three or more crosses gives you points. Whoever scores the most points becomes the winner.

Sixto and the fun of winding and writing

So far so good, but the similarity too Qwixx Really eye-catching. Naturally, all players always participate in the game. You also get upset when the first roll doesn't stick and your fellow player simply rolls the dice again. So there is always interaction and tension. Sixto - Box - Photography by Kendi Games Sixto is definitely a great game to write and roll, even if it's not up to par for me Qwixx receipt. But this could be because of that Qwixx It's been on the table a lot for a long time and I still can't get enough of this modern classic. Sixto won't weigh down my shelf, but it will go into my garden shed. It will find its place there, because it is definitely a nice alternative. It will likely be a garden classic. Not perfect, but too good to give up. The fun is there despite the similarity.
