Innovative technology that could give surgeons ‘superpowers’

Apple Vision Pro, a mixed reality headset, could be useful in medicine, according to a surgeon, because it provides important data during surgery. In addition to increasing productivity in the workplace, introducing Apple Vision Pro can be a life saver in some situations. This device could, according to one surgeon, frankly give doctors “superpowers.”

How Apple Vision Pro can support operations

Dr. Raphael Grossman, a general surgeon with experience in robotic surgery and the first to live-stream a surgery using Google Glass, believes Apple Vision Pro is important during an operation when information is critical to a patient’s survival.

“In the operating room, you’re collecting data in mixed reality that helps you in real time, in sync with the surgery,” Grossman told WMTV8 about the mixed reality technology he’s currently using. He added that this technology allows not to remove the computer. With spatial computation, monitors could theoretically be placed anywhere in space and potentially be within the wearer’s line of sight in the event of an operation.

Off-the-shelf applications

Repeatedly Grossman suggests He suggests the Apple Headset could be used in other ways, such as creating a stronger doctor-patient connection. For example, a digital assistant can relieve a physician of basic tasks such as taking notes or providing information from patient files.

Thus, Apple Vision Pro technology represents a promising innovation in medicine that has the potential not only to improve the efficiency of surgical procedures, but also to revolutionize the interaction between doctors and patients.
