Features
The Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 9 series is a 2-in-1 convertible laptop that can be used for work, study, and hobbies.
The battery size has been increased over the previous model, and it boasts top-notch battery runtime for a 14-inch laptop.
It also comes with a standard stylus, making it a better value than other notebooks.
Equipped with a large battery and a long-range, first-class 14-inch battery.
The 14-inch model of the Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 9 uses a 71 Wh battery.
This is because by adopting the latest Intel Core Ultra series, it is now possible to install a larger battery.
In our video playback test, we were able to confirm that it can be played for approximately 15 hours and 15 minutes.
Even though the screen resolution is 1,920 x 1,200 dots, this was one of the best battery times for a 14-inch laptop.
It seems to be a very powerful tool for those who consider carrying it frequently for study purposes.
It adopts an organic EL panel that can be used for video watching and creativity
The Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 9 uses an organic EL panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 dots.
The advantage of using organic EL is that it supports 10-bit color, making it suitable for image correction and video editing that corrects RAW data.
It is also recommended to watch the video as it has been certified as VESSA DisplaHDR 500 True Black.
Explanation of the lineup
The entire 14-inch Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 9 range uses an organic EL panel.
Only the lower notch has a 60Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution.
The advantage of this is that the battery has a long continuous operating time.If you are buying it for office work, we recommend the lowest grade.
It's difficult to replace an SSD yourself, so if you want a high-spec model, don't hesitate to buy the Core Ultra 7 model.
design
The upper side of the panel is made of aluminum material. I think the color is Tidal Teal, which gives it a luxurious feel.
The size is approximately 317mm wide x 222mm deep x 16.64mm high. It has a standard size of 14 inches and can fit in your work bag.
The underside is also made of aluminum material.
It's held in place with a Torx screw, so once it's removed, you can remove the back cover as mentioned above.
Actual weight is about 1.49 kg.
A 65W AC adapter is included.
The total weight is about 1.7kg, so you can carry it with you. I think using an external AC adapter would make it more portable.
a screen
Screen size is 14 inches. The installed panel is an organic EL panel.
Resolution Full HD+ (1920 x 1200 dots).
If you are concerned about the type of glare that reflects light, you may want to consider purchasing an anti-reflective film.
Color gamut
The display's color gamut has a DCI-P3 cinematic color coverage rate of 99.9%.
Maximum white brightness was about 370 nits.
I think this is the perfect monitor for watching videos and creating content.
keyboard
The keyboard is a Japanese version of the US layout. The Enter key has become larger, so even those who are used to the JIS layout will be able to use this layout right away.
user interface

- HDMI
- USB-C (3.2 Gen 2)
- USB-C (Thunderbolt 4)
- Audio jack
the right side
- Power button
- Micro memory card port
- USB-A (3.2 Gen 1)
performance
Cinebench R23
Cinebench R23 is a benchmark program that measures CPU performance. The higher the score, the higher the performance.
The multi-core performance is 9674 points and the single-core performance is 1642 points.
This is a good result for a 14-inch laptop. Performance is sufficient for office work using Microsoft Office.
Additionally, performance decreased only slightly in Adaptive Power Mode, where performance changes depending on the situation. If it's an office job, there's no problem at all.
3D Mark Time Spy
These are the results of the supposedly game-heavy 3DMark TimeSpy.
It has decent performance for a 14-inch model.
However, perhaps due to the influence of individual fans, the performance did not improve much.
If you want to enjoy gaming, you may want to consider the AMD model.
Computer temperature and fan noise
Run a 10-minute Cinebench R23 test with 100% CPU usage and check your PC temperature.
The core temperature is controlled at around 60°C.
The average operating frequency is about 1.4 GHz.
The performance is slightly lower than the other model with the same configuration.
Surface temperature
The temperature was around 36.9°C and I thought it would get a little warm after long periods of use.
Loud fan rotation
Adaptive power mode
The fan operating noise was about 40.8 dB.
It's a little louder than Lenovo's 14-inch laptop, but it's not annoying.
Summary if you want a great laptop
The Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 9 14 has the features of a 2-in-1 convertible notebook, but uses organic EL.
Ideal for learning and business use.
Points of concern are that there is no 32GB memory model available and that it is a single fan.
Those who do serious creative work should consider the IdeaPad Pro or Yoga Pro 7 series.
Disadvantages below
- Performance is limited because I am a single fan.
- There is no 32GB memory model
