Corinthians plans two training matches and refuses friendly

Today (15), Corinthians face their first test of the pre-season when they play a training match with Inter de Limera. Coach Sylvinho is looking forward to the chance to put the squad together with Paulinho entering the midfield and planning another match at CT Joaquim Grava next week. The idea of ​​a friendly match at the Neo Química Arena was rejected.

The technical committee intends to use the training games to integrate holders, test tactical differences, monitor new staff, cases of Bruno Melo and Robson Bambu, as well as give minutes on the field to those who did not have a place last year. The confrontation with Inter de Limeira will have less time and Sylvinho will bring together two different teams.

In the next few days, on a date yet to be determined, the Corinthians will have another test at CT Joaquim Grava. The name of the opponent has not been chosen yet and negotiations are being conducted by Doreva, Sylvinho’s assistant coach. In this second training match, Timão’s coaching staff intends to give more minutes on the field to his holder and, during the match, make substitutions.

There are still doubts about the starting lineup and the suitability of the athletes, issues that will be analyzed by Silvinho in the training games. With Paulinho entering the midfield, the selection of the number one midfielder is something to consider. The assembly of the defensive system is another problem as well, as the coach still does not know when he will receive the long-awaited heavy striker promised by President Duilio Monteiro Alves.

The possibility of a friendly presence with the audience in Itaquera is unlikely. This is because Corinthians realize that the preparation time before the start of the Paulista Championship is tight and there will be no time to plan an event of this dimension in the coming days. There is even a fear of restrictions imposed by the state government of São Paulo due to the current phase of the pandemic.
