SteamOS gets Resident Evil 4 Remake hotfix

SteamOS, Valve’s Arch Linux-based gaming operating system, is receiving a hotfix for its Windows Wine-compatible runtime environment and the internal compatibility tool Proton on which it is based. This makes it possible for the first time to try the beta version of the new version of Resident Evil 4, which will be released on March 24, on the Steam Deck.

The latest build of SteamOS in-house gaming operating system, which is based on Arch Linux, the free KDE Plasma 5.26 desktop environment and Steam client, is followed by a hotfix for Valve’s Proton compatibility tool. SteamOS 3.4.6 Beta required

The change to the latest beta also imports a required hotfix for the Proton Compatibility Tool, which is responsible for the Chainsaw demo running on the Steam Deck. Players can switch to the beta via Settings → System → Channel: Steam Updates Make.
