The Omega I60 is equipped with a temperature and humidity controlled operating system which prepares filaments for printing. This high speed 1.75mm direct drive extruder allows speeds up to 300mm/sec to produce parts faster than before.
to set
- Updated BCN3Ds signature Independent Dual Extrusion Technology (IDEX):
With IDEX technology for the Omega I60, the X drives remain stable during the printing process. This reduces inertia and results in faster print speeds.
- Improved HAQ-XY kinematics:
The HAQ-XY kinematics rollers are better positioned on the BCN3D Omega I60 so that the system experiences a significant reduction in torsional moments along the X axis during the printing process. Unwanted torsional moments adversely affect system performance and may result in unwanted crooked pages in the x-axis, which directly affects the quality of printed parts.
The Omega I60 3D printer’s powerful extrusion system features an LGX Pro 1.75mm Direct Drive extruder for greater control and precision. The E3D Revo’s custom heat ports provide best-in-class extrusion reliability and allow for easy interchangeable nozzle changes.
- High speed ready:
The BCN3D Omega I60 3D Printer features built-in accelerometers and 32-bit electronics, plus a custom version of Marlin 2.1, enabling efficient machining of parts at an impressive speed of 300 mm/sec and accelerations of 10 m/s².
Omega I60’s heated chamber reaches a temperature of 70°C. Heating the chamber close to the glass transition temperature of the material promotes relaxation and eliminates internal stresses during fabrication, effectively preventing problems such as warping and cracking. After the 3D printing process, progressive cooling is performed to ensure the highest dimensional accuracy and mechanical durability of the printed part.
- Material Operations System (MOS):
The material process system can control the humidity and temperature. The system helps recover damaged materials and preheat the filament prior to printing, which is particularly useful for technical materials with high heat deflection temperatures. MOS can also load and unload filament automatically. For example, if half of the print job runs out of filament, the machine automatically changes the filament. The temperature of Omega I60 MOS by BCN3D can reach 75°C and guarantees a relative humidity of less than 10%.
Automatic calibration of the XYZ ensures that the first layer adheres properly and eliminates the need for humans, according to BCN3D. A special calibration area outside the print surface is used to align the tool head. The tool heads come into contact with the auto calibration area to automatically calculate the position and offset calibration to avoid overlapping or layer shifts in the copy mode.
The Omega I60 from BCN3D also features a built-in camera, flexible build plate, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), filament run out sensor (FRS), coil and component detection barcode sensors, Andon light, 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, HEPA and carbon filter, safety pause function, and stop button For emergencies, WiFi or Ethernet calling features.
Material
BCN3D has introduced a number of new materials for its new Omega I60 3D printer.
Materials include:
omega proto: Omega Proto is suitable for prototyping, fixtures, low pressure alignment guides and drilling guides. It offers a smooth matte black surface and isotropic properties, making it suitable for both simple and functional prototyping.
Omega Impact ASA: Omega Impact ASA UV resistance is ideal for outdoor end use parts especially tools that are subjected to repetitive stress.
Omega-resistant nylon: This material can be used for the factory floor environment. Resistant to chemicals, corrosion, and solvents, it replaces materials such as acetal commonly used in production lines.
Omega Toolbox CF: Omega Tooling’s CF material is engineered for maximum strength and is suitable for machining metal parts, metal forming tools, bending tools and end use parts that require exceptional strength.
Omega support: Separate backing material works with all of the above materials, according to BCN3D, and is easy to remove.
Omega Launchpad
The Omega Launchpad caters to companies of all shapes and sizes looking to experience the new BCN3D Omega I60. By participating in this program, individuals can expect to be among the first to explore the capabilities of the new BCN3D Omega I60 and experience its true potential by creating tactile 3D printed parts.
