A digital concept artist took on the challenge of reinterpreting the legendary Ferrari Testarossa for the era of electric mobility. Instead of just indulging in virtual renderings, Brian Kim went one step further and made his concept a reality as a physical model thanks to 3D printing.
The original Testarossa achieved cult status in the 1980s thanks to its mid-engined V12 and timeless wedge shape. The new KIM Edition retains its distinctive design features but embodies an inspiring future as a high-performance electric vehicle.
Kim worked with Kihyeon Kim of prx.works for the 3D implementation. Her computer model formed the basis for 3D printing of the Testarossa model, and additive manufacturing allowed the complex surface structures to be accurately reproduced.
