With telemedicine and artificial intelligence for better care in intensive care medicine. The new offering enables remote digital support for clinics and improves intensive care care, even in rural areas.

TCC (Telehealth Competence Center) provides digital intensive care medicine with a high level of professional expertise to hospitals around the clock. To do this, TCC processes real-time data from the intensive care units of partner hospitals and remotely monitors the course of treatment with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and the clinical expertise of its specialists.

Professor Dr. explains Med. Christian Sturm, Managing Director and Co-Founder of TCC GmbH. “Our expert team of specialists, intensivists and nursing staff have insight into the course of treatment and can access AI-powered predictions in their analyses.” At the request of the treating physician, TCC also provides support with guideline-based joint assessments upon request for urgent questions about critically ill patients.

The Private Health Insurance Association (PKV) supports this innovative offer. For this purpose, PKV has developed an agreement with TCC GmbH for the billing of these “private telemedicine consultations” in intensive care medicine, ensuring adequate remuneration for the services.

“This new technology could particularly improve medical care in rural areas,” says Florian Reuther, Director of the PKV Association. “It can save the lives of patients who do not live near large centres. They benefit from the knowledge of specialists without having to move to the next big city. Private health insurance once again confirms its claim that it opens a door to medical innovations and modern care.”
