Automotive supplier Mahle plans to sell its thermostat business to industrial and investment holding company Admetos. The two companies signed a similar contract at the beginning of August. Admetos intends to take over development and production with about 600 employees in six countries.

Mahle’s new strategy focuses on electrification and thermal management systems as well as green combustion engine components. In this context, the group decided to sell the thermostat products area, as this will not represent a strategic business area in the future. Thermostats are components that regulate the temperature of the cooling water in internal combustion engines.

Admetos is an owner-managed industrial and investment holding company with expertise in the automotive sector with plans to expand its thermostat business. The sale includes sites in Qingdao (China), Berga (Germany), Querétaro (Mexico) and the thermostat development area in Stuttgart. (AWM)
