Additionally, there is a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (GtG2). Thus, the gaming giant is setting new standards in the Samsung Odyssey family. As a special feature, Samsung gave the Odyssey Ark the Ark Dial – a solar-powered remote control with which the gaming monitor can show its full flexibility: in portrait or landscape format, in multi-view mode or cockpit.

A home cinema experience that appeals to all senses
With the new Odyssey Ark, players* immerse themselves in a gaming experience reminiscent of the experience in the cinema. The large 55-inch screen completely fills the user’s direct and indirect field of view thanks to the 1000R curvature. The effect can also be experienced in the pivot mode, since the stand makes it possible to rotate, tilt and rotate the monitor. Thanks to the HAS (Height Adjustable Stand) function, the height can also be configured individually. In this way, Odyssey Ark creates an improved immersive screen experience – and allows its owners to immerse themselves deeply in their gaming worlds.
Thanks to Samsung Quantum Matrix technology and built-in Quantum Mini LEDs, precise control of each individual LED is achieved. Combined with the newly developed 14-bit LED control, 16,384 different shades of black can be obtained. This means that subtle in-game dark shadows are largely recognizable.
A constant contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 clearly highlights even the smallest details. Samsung Neural Quantum Processor Ultra uses data from 20 neural networks. This means that the playback quality reaches a high level. Every visual detail is modified to upgrade content to 4K resolution.
To enhance the home cinema feel, Odyssey Ark has installed Samsung’s “Matte Display” and “Sound Dome Technology”. The matte screen surface protects against glare and reflections so gamers can focus fully on their game content. Sound Dome Technology creates a surround sound experience with AI Sound Booster and Dolby Atmos. A loudspeaker in each corner of the screen and two center speakers ensure rich, realistic sound. The 60W 2.2.2 system handles deep bass tones at 45Hz.
Onboard game center
Looking at the technical details, players will not miss anything: Odyssey Ark’s refresh rate is 165 Hz. 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), 1ms response time (GtG), and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro are important, especially for fast gaming operations as well. But that’s not all: Odyssey Ark has – like current Smart TV models3 From Samsung – Game Center4 on board. The streaming platform gives gamers access to fully stocked game libraries from partners such as Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. With no downloads or storage required, fans can freely explore the diversity of the gaming world. Other popular apps are also available: if you need a gaming break, you’ll find what you’re looking for in streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime.
Omni-directional in portrait and landscape format
Gamers increasingly expect a flexible and customizable gaming environment. Odyssey Ark takes this into account with several functions that allow for quick and convenient control. Screen size, position, and even aspect ratio can be easily adjusted for proper gaming setup. At the heart of the customizable experience is the Ark Dial – a solar powered remote control unit developed exclusively for the Ark Odyssey. It can be used to adjust settings quickly and easily. These features include Flex Move Display, Multi View, Quick Settings, and Game Bar features.
With the Flex Move Screen function, players can freely choose the screen size between 55 and 27. The position and screen ratio can also be configured between 16:9, 21:9 and 32:9 – all with a touch of the Ark Dial. Odyssey Ark offers this freedom not only in landscape mode but also in portrait mode. With the multi-display function, Odyssey Ark provides space to display up to four different screen contents side by side in landscape mode. In the vertical cockpit position, it is possible to have up to three screen windows one above the other. This eliminates the need for gamers to work with multiple individual displays. The result is a simple setup without many different cables and connectors.

From checking FPS (frames per second), HDR (high dynamic range), and VRR (variable refresh rate) to adjusting settings like screen ratio, response time, and game picture mode, Game Bar puts gamers in control.
In addition to being equipped with a solar panel, the Ark Dial can also be charged via a USB Type-C port. Batteries are not required.
