How will future generations read the traces we leave behind? What are the consequences of our technological world on society and nature? The Lausanne-based collective Fragmentin has been working on the interface between art and technology since its founding in 2014. Laura Nieder, Marc Dubois and David Colombini – all three who studied at Ecal – are interested in the tension between new technologies, their social impacts, and human-made processes of environmental change. ###Media_2### In the exhibition “Fragmentin – Navigating Uncertainty” at Kornhausforum, the trio addresses topics that are likely to interest us more in the future, such as the use of electromagnetic waves, post-digital archaeology, scarcity of natural resources and over-consumption of content Digital. Her installations, sculptures and videos make the abstract realm tangible for visitors. The Kornhausforum media release stresses that the debate is essential: “The technological innovations that give us confidence in our ability to overcome the difficulties of our time also bring with them new challenges. How do we navigate the waters of our complex, rapidly changing world?” The little show can’t provide any answers. But the various exhibits contribute to dialogue and spark curiosity to interact with the topic with pleasure. ###media_3### …
