[Kaufberatung] – Build for gaming PCs with 4090 and 13900K

Hello Mittnand,

Yes, I’m new here, but like many others, I’ve been reading here on the forum for a long time, of course.
I’m actually an “old hand” at PC, but it’s actually been 10 years since I last put together my own gaming PC… anymore than Gamble :very funny:. But now I would like to return to it and need your support in my new compilation, on which I would like to spend between 5,000 and 6,000 euros. As you can see from the budget, it should go in the hi-end direction, but still be a relatively uncomplicated system (eg without fancy custom cooling, because I’m not much of an overclocker). I’m not a big “developer” either, my new computer should last a few years as is, without too much mess. My philosophy is that if there are new, much better platforms in a few years, I’m going to sell my existing PC and build a brand new one.

Well maybe you have some suggestions for improving my compilation, or tips and tricks and criticism… in case I compiled complete nonsense somewhere :not sure::giggle: .

1. Do you want to play on PC? If the answer is yes, then what?
Sure, I also want to be able to play games reasonably smoothly which have very high system/graphics requirements, like Cyberpunk, Jedi Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy, etc…
But I’m not a competitive player, so I always play on my own.

2. Do you want to use the computer to edit photos/music/videos or something similar? As a hobby or are you a professional? What software will you use?
Part of my job is to edit photos professionally, and I’ve made that my hobby as well, as I’m a fairly high-level photographer. As an example: some of my landscape panoramas have several gigabytes in processing (multiple layers, at least 16-bit color spaces, etc.) and need good, fast hardware so don’t despair.
Music is very close to my heart and I sometimes try to mix and master as a hobby. This is why I also want a motherboard with acceptable onboard audio and ideally a DAC installed on it as well. (It doesn’t have to be a Hi-End sound card, but I’d like to hear Hi-Res music with it, because I have a small but great set of headphones and can also hook up to really good studio monitors).

3. Do you have special requirements or wishes (specific brands and manufacturers, overclocking, a particularly quiet PC, RGB lighting, …)?
Computers can be a bit playful, so my assembly already has some RGB lighting in it. I’d rather omit ASUS motherboards for now, but in general, my computer should have as many black components as possible so I can turn off the lights if needed and it doesn’t attract attention in my study/computer. I’d like to be able to run OC, but I’d prefer a moderate, careful overclock.

4. How many and how many screens do you want to use? Model, resolution, refresh rate (hertz)? Gsync / FreeSync? How many FPS do you want to see?
Right now I have a poor quality DELL 27″ and earlier but it’s still a good 24″ for creative work. But ideally, I would buy a flat OLED 32+ at 4K and ideally 240Hz, which also has a large color space (at least 90% Adobe RGB or at least 100% DCI-P3) … a jack of all trades. But it could also be 42 LG C3 … Let’s see.

5. Do you still have an old computer, parts of which can be reused?
No, I’ve been using the ASUS ROG gaming laptop for gaming for the past few years…but now it’s kinda behind…in fact it can already be described as broken.

6. How much money do you want to spend?
As mentioned at the beginning, my budget is 5000 € and can be exceeded by 10-20%.

7. When should I buy a PC?
I’ll then start ordering soon, but it doesn’t have to be everything right now. Let’s put it this way, if I have everything together and ready to go by the end of August at the latest, that’s fine.

8. Do you want to assemble the computer yourself or have it assembled (by the shop or by helpers (list as sticky))?
Yes, I compile it myself.

9. Do you want to stream your content with your PC (eg via Twitch/OBS)? If so, what games/content? Do you already have the parts to set up the stream? (multiple screens, microphone, camera, broadcast device, …)?
No, this is not an option for me.

Here is my current compilation:

At least when it comes to RAM, SSD, GraKa, and AIO, I have so many components to choose from that I’m still hesitant about those parts.
As for the 4090, I’m kidding with Nvidia Founders Edition… what do you think?

Many thanks in advance and I hope my “wall of text” is understandable :rolleyes2:
