Google is now offering “Android 14 QPR1 Beta 1” for Pixel 5a (5G) and later!

Applies to Pixel 5a (5G), Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet If you are already enrolled in the Android Beta program, you can update the software over the network, factory images and OTA images are also available. Build number The updated one is “U1B1.230908.003”, the security patch level is “September 2023”, and Google Play Services is “23.32.17”.

Please note that Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5, which were previously eligible for the Android Beta program, are no longer eligible for Android 14 QPR1 Beta1, and for these products, if they are enrolled in the Android Beta program. It will be automatically removed from the Android Beta program over the next week. The Android Beta program will not be made available after Android 14 QPR1 Beta1, but will instead be distributed once the official build of Android 14 is released.

Other changes such as specific new features for Android 14 QPR1 Beta1 have not been revealed, but from now on, Android 14 QPR1 will be available continuously until December 2023, and the next “Pixel Features Drop” will release the contents of the 13th beta. The release (scheduled for December 2023) is now available in advance. Additionally, the company is asking participants in the pilot program to provide feedback, including any problems.

QPR is a beta program that allows you to try out Pixel Features Drop, a major update made available every quarter (3 months) for Pixel-branded smartphones and tablets developed and sold by Google, starting with Android 12 from the previous year. Android 13 is available as “Android 13 QPR1” as of September 2022, “Android 13 QPR2” as of December 2022, and “Android 13 QPR3” as of March 2023.

This time, QPR was first made available in Android 14, and Android 14 QPR1, which includes the contents of the next Pixel Features Drop, was launched on December 13, 2023. Since it is a beta version, there may be various issues like stability, battery, performance, etc., and it may not be suitable for daily use for people who need accessibility.

Please also note that Android 14 QPR1 Beta 1 has the following known issues. Additionally, the update file size is around 2.36GB when only the head unit is installed over the network using the Android Beta software on the Pixel 7 Pro which has already implemented the March 2023 software update to Android 14 Beta 5.3 Masu.
