Cardi B is totally upset about what haters say about her personality…no. In a newly shared video, the rapper mocks body-shamers by eating a plate full of pancakes, appearing to mock negative comments she's been receiving about a recent performance between bites.
In the clip, Cardi wears a bathrobe while cutting into a stack of pancakes, and mockingly pretends to cry. “I'm ashamed of my body, I'm so sad,” she says through a piece of pancake.
“Everyone says I look fat, that my body is too fat,” she continues, piling on some whipped cream. “Everyone hates me.”
The “Up” musician's comments appear to be related to her performance over Memorial Day weekend Dry Nightclub in Las Vegas (aka the site of last summer's viral microphone throwing incident). On Saturday night, Cardi electrified the crowd in a skin-tight leopard-print bodysuit.
The concert came just a few days after the Bronx native stopped by Megan Thee Stallion's show at Madison Square Garden, where the two women performed their 2021 Billboard Hot 100-topping hit “WAP” together. Later that night, GloRilla joined the duo on stage for “Tomorrow 2.”
A triumphant reunion came after Cardi on May 16 Rolling Stone A cover story in which she emphasized her role in helping other women in hip-hop achieve success. “These labels didn’t believe in representing new rap artists,” she told the publication. “I've had people from every label tell me that it's in my face. They started signing new female rappers after I signed.”
