Asus ROG Swift PG42UQ and PG48UQ: Large gaming monitors with OLED technology

Asus ROG Swift PG42UQ and PG48UQ: Large gaming monitors with OLED technology

The new Asus ROG Swift PG42UQ and PG48UQ should be suitable as larger gaming monitors and even as a TV replacement. The PG42UQ has a diagonal of 42 inches and the PG48UQ is offered as a 48-inch model.

According to Asus, the heat dissipation in the new screens is significantly improved with a special heat sink, so that the typical problems with image burn-in with OLEDs do not appear or should only occur later. According to their data, the monitors use the latest technology with a special sub-pixel layout, which achieves a very high level of accuracy and thus increases the legibility of the screen texts.

The two monitors in the ROG Swift Series are G-Sync compatible and deliver a maximum refresh rate of 138Hz. The response time for large screens was set at only 0.1 ms from gray to gray (GtG).

With coverage of 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum and dynamic contrast from 1,200,000 to 1, as well as support for HDR10, the monitors should also satisfy the demands of gamers.

Both models have DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1, two HDMI 2.0, and a USB port as connections. The built in speakers actually come from Harman Kardon and are configured as a 2.1 setup, giving a maximum rated power of 10 watts per speaker and 15 watt subwoofer.

Pricing and exact release date have not been announced.
