Wi-Fi 6E is slowly but surely being built, but slowly but surely we are also in the transition to Wi-Fi 7. More and more new products are incorporating the standard and routers in particular are getting started.
Yesterday Amazon introduced the Amazon eero Max 7 tri-band mesh WiFi router for €699, which will also be “available soon”. There are two 10GbE ports and wireless speeds of up to 4.3Gb/s.
Wi-Fi 7 delivers more than twice the speed of Wi-Fi 6, which means higher capacity, lower latency, and greater efficiency in your network.
Amazon is also introducing a new Max category of devices, which aims to deliver a “premium experience.” It’s eero’s fastest tri-band mesh WiFi router yet (eero was acquired in 2019 and launched with us shortly after that).
I haven’t had any experience with eero yet, but 700 euros is an advertisement for a lot of people. But of course the material is there too. In the US there are also 2- and 3-packs, and in Germany there is only one 7-pack router listed so far.
