The Sixth Rainbow: The promised big changes have been postponed

Ubisoft is delaying several features planned for Year 7 of Rainbow Six Siege. The roadmap will be updated again. Source: Ubisoft

In February 2022, Ubisoft first presented the roadmap for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege for the seventh year. I have promised that the especially popular and tactical multiplayer shooter game will continue to evolve from season to season. There was talk of new functionality and content that should appear. Only later.

We’ve only known this for a while, because a few days ago the Year 7 roadmap, which had already been updated as part of Operation Vector Glare, was modified again. Several major updates to be implemented with Season 3 of Season 7 will be pushed back to Season 4 and the final of the year.

Ubisoft will stay true to the concept of four seasons a year in 2022, but it will have to adjust its schedule significantly – some fans eagerly awaiting some delayed features shouldn’t like it at all.

Not a new card nor a rank 2.0 – it’s a replacement

Season 2 has begun and with Sens, the newest agent has arrived in the attacking ranks. The shooting range is here too and other promised features have been introduced. All is well? Better not. Because while the roadmap is doing well so far, Season 3 is going to look kind of bad.

Another new map was supposed to be released in Year 7 Season 3, but nothing is happening now. As an alternative, Ubisoft is now announcing another change related to the maps, which should become active in Season 3. Accordingly, the deck of competitive cards will be expanded by one card, but the name has not yet been mentioned. The only indication is that the community has played this map before – as part of an event, but never in competition.

More delays

Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 Season 3 must implement Rank 2.0 mode, voice chat restrictions, as well as a Reputation Scale beta. But all three of these innovations do not enter the game on time according to the updated roadmap.

Ubisoft has announced that all three features will be ported to Year Seven Season 4. They find that development needs more time and want to ensure that quality standards are maintained. We’re talking about the best possible rework in terms of “Rating 2.0” and meeting the needs of live game development in both the limitations of voice chat and beta for reputation assessment.

“In line with upcoming player behavior features, we are pleased to announce that the ability to send cheat reports from match replays and text chat restrictions will arrive in Year 7 Season 3 as planned,” Ubisoft added in the announcement. after every thing.

Major budget changes were also announced for season three. According to Ubisoft, the primary focus should be on the unbalanced balance between LMGs and Finka’s role in the meta. The upcoming massive balancing patch with Season 3 is the main reason why a balancing update isn’t released mid-season. Part of the update is that some operators will have the ability to add EMP grenades to their equipment.
