Digital education is no longer new in Switzerland. The “bring your own machine” model is very popular at the Sekt II level and is now very popular in higher vocational training.
At BZWU in particular, great importance is attached to innovation, new education and learning. Technology plays an important role in this. However, the Wil Uzwil Vocational and Further Training Center not only fosters the spirit of innovation within the school.
For Technical School «Andrea Dorsako» in Kosovo, 25 July 2022 is a very important day. Because today, students of Kosovo receive a new IT infrastructure that enables them to achieve a completely new level of education. 26 computers/laptops and all accessories and hardware were donated and provided by BZWU from Switzerland.
The excitement is great, as students increasingly rely on IT equipment when learning technical careers. Computer scientists who work only on theory or who share an old computer should become a thing of the past.
The idea for this project has been around for a long time. The idea was launched by Agron Rrudhani – Course Leader and Lecturer in Logistics Specialist Course with Federal Certificate.
As a native of Kosovo who has lived in Switzerland for a long time and works in the further education department of BZWU, he knows both the education in Switzerland and the conditions at home. When it came time to completely replace the BZWU hardware, it was clear to him that there was still reasonable use of the hardware.
The organization and transfer were completely orchestrated with Richard Shearer, Head of Technology and Vice President of Training.
The fact that this donation was of great importance to the Technical School of Kosovo was demonstrated by the presence of the school administration, the press and the mayor. Computers mean major advances in training young professionals.
So the generous work of the Swiss Vocational School was honored with a certificate. Work is currently underway to deepen cooperation between the Kosovar school and BZWU.
