in the last episodetime stagesDiviner sent his right hand to Drednok on Protostar, but was then defeated by the Crew. First of all: the Dreadnoughts were not allowed to return here. Because our heroes noticed another dreadnought in the queue. And they quickly dismantled it. However, they come across a message from Diviner, who gives them a dire ultimatum: either they turn Protostar over to him or he kills all the miners of Tars Lamora.

Then what follows are initially quiet scenes in which the good character moments focus. And soon the crew agrees: you have to help the people in the mine! Only Dal reacts a bit prematurely and storms out. However, this leads to another great character scene, in which the relationship between Dal and Gwyn is deepened.

Teamwork is also central to the story in “Return to Tars Lamora, Part 1” (Image: “Star Trek: Prodigy” 1×09, Paramount+)

It’s also good at this point that Dahl is not worrying about himself but about the crew. This takes into account his character development in the past few episodes. And while it may be a little cliché that the entire crew is wearing Starfleet uniforms for the first time and wants to follow the Federation’s path; The cohesion is noticeable here and it’s really well executed.

And even if not much happens in the next course of the episode, it is still necessary to devise a cunning plan and successfully implement it.

And so it’s back to where the season began: in the world of the Definer. In the slave mines of Tars amora. We also see Cait miner from the first episode again here. So you are facing the villain! What was even more amazing was that Diviner really intended to uphold the agreement.

Anyway, the scene where the ship is handed over to Diviner is really well done. Gwen seems to deviate a bit from the plan here, though. One is surprised that everything seems to be going really well, some mockery or not.

But as it stands: the grand finale is yet to come! Because Diviner of course betrays his friends (what else?) and wants to kill them all. Well, surely others will think: You should have seen that coming!

By the way, a nice little twist here is that Holo-Janeway turns into an evil version of herself. But hopefully only temporarily! And the character’s scene between Gwen and her father is also impressive. He must have realized that it was more important than the ship. Is there still hope here even for the villain? But he still didn’t want to tell the truth. And so it comes as it should…

In the end, it becomes clear that all of this was just part of a clever plan. Because Dal and Co. They only played to fool Diviner.

This is very well done here, especially in terms of Zero and proto-core. The 3D repeater has been used here in a beneficial way. And the whole thing is still exciting.

So the next episode could come with this promising setup!
