Ubisoft has begun developing a new version of the game “Rayman”. A team from Ubisoft Milan is working on a modified version under the codename “Project Steambot”. Here's what Insider Gaming wants to know.
The publication was able to find more information about the development. These events coincide with the dissolution of the team that previously worked on the film “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.” Success was below expectations.
Michel Ancel will likely participate as an advisor
With the solution team behind “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown”which we I reported todayThere were no layoffs. Instead, the members moved on to other productions, including “Beyond Good & Evil 2” and the new title “Ghost Recon.”
Other members joined the “Rayman” project, e.g Indoor games I mentioned. About a dozen developers are said to have switched to “Project Steambot” and are working on the yet-to-be-announced new version.
Particular focus is being placed on the development of the “Rayman” remake, with former “Rayman” creator Michel Ancel reportedly involved as a consultant. “This has caused some concern among team members,” Insider Gaming wrote. Ansell was charged in 2020 with creating a toxic work environment.
It seems fans don't have to worry too much about the game itself: the Milan studio Ubisoft, responsible for management, has worked on more than 20 titles over the past two decades, so there should be plenty of experience.
