Despite project adjustments, the credit limit of 118,000 Swiss francs approved by the municipal council will be adhered to.
On November 27, 2020, the municipal council approved a loan of 118,000 francs to renovate the ICT system at Murgenthal School. The Municipal Council announced that the project had not yet been fully implemented, but that it had to be adapted due to technical developments and general conditions.
In the future, the Morgenthal School ICT vision will no longer have its own server in favor of Microsoft’s cloud technology. In addition, the network cabling and WLAN access points in the Riken school building will be replaced or improved so that the devices function properly. The majority of students are provided with tablets (iPad). Since tablets (iPads) are only used in Rothrist High School and in the majority of elementary schools, Morgenthal School will also use this technology in the future. This increases flexibility and costs
Maintenance can be reduced. Laptops continue to be used for school leadership/administration and faculty.
Despite this project amendment, the loan amount should be sufficient, according to Morgenthal’s municipal council. (rum)
