New gaming mouse with tons of buttons

From Oliver Jaeger
German computer peripheral manufacturer Roccat presents a new gaming mouse from the Kone series, the Roccat Kone XP. Among other things, it features 15 programmable keys, a titanium key fob, and RGB lighting with 22 LEDs. Kone XP will be available in stores starting March 29th.

Hardware maker Roccat’s Kone series is expanding with a new member. Roccat recently introduced the Kone XP, which is said to be the spiritual successor to Kone Aimo Remastered. Kone XP key features include 15 programmable buttons (including 5 thumb buttons) that can be operated with EasyShift[+]Technology with 29 main commands that can be set. The Krystal 4D scroll wheel is also featured, along with a Titan Switch Optical, which Roccat says will withstand 100 million clicks and offer twice the durability.

On a visual level, Kone XP should also achieve a lot. This is achieved by RGB lighting, which is implemented using 22 LEDs and 8 light guides. Light effects extend across the translucent envelope. Also part of the hardware is a Phantomflex cable (1.8m) and heat-treated mouse feet. The cable is said to create the feel of an “almost wireless gaming experience”, while the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) mouse feet are said to be the reason for “extremely smooth mouse movements”. Kone XP is also compatible with Nvidia Reflex.

The question remains what sensor the Roccat Kone XP comes with. An optical owl eye sensor with a resolution of 19,000 dpi is used here, which is said to be based on the PAW33870. Additional details include adjustable take-off distance, 50g acceleration and scanning from 50 minimum to maximum declared 19,000 DPI. Mouse dimensions are 126 x 40 x 76 mm (L x H x W) with a weight of 104 grams and a grip width of 59 mm.

According to Roccat, the gaming mouse is also suitable for all kinds of games, but especially because of the many buttons for MMORPGs or MOBAs. The Kone XP is available in black and white from March 29 for €89.99 and can be purchased already Via Roccat . Store pre-order.
