MIFCOM's New Gaming Laptops – Hardware

(Excerpt from press release)

Munich, April 22, 2024 | MIFCOM introduces a new series of laptops with an attractive exterior and exciting interior. The series starts with four black 15-inch devices, and will be expanded in the coming weeks to include white versions and two more powerful high-end models in a 16-inch format.

Two systems equipped with an Intel CPU Core i9-14900HX processor and two systems equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor are available for launch, each equipped with up to 64 GB of RAM and up to 8 TB of data storage space. Intel customers can choose between mobile versions of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4070. Laptops use AMD GeForce RTX 4050 and RTX 4060. While running on mains power, the graphics units can rely on a full 140 watts of power. The advanced cooling concept and the use of Honeywell phase change pads instead of classic thermal paste ensure that the devices do not overheat even during continuous use.

In mobile phone use, power consumption is limited in order to extend battery life, which is up to six or seven hours. Replaceable lithium-ion batteries are very large at 80 (AMD) or 99 (Intel) watt-hours. It can be powered either using the included power supply or via a USB-C charger; The latter should only be used for office use and not for gaming due to its limited 90W charging power.

Another advantage of the new MIFCOM laptops is the screen. All models have a 15.3-inch IPS display in 16:10 format with WQHD resolution and a refresh rate of 120 (RTX 4050) or 240 (RTX 4060 and 4070) Hz, which covers the full sRGB color space and with a brightness of up to 500 nits. Sarah bright. External displays can also be controlled via HDMI output or Mini DisplayPort as well as USB-C.

In addition to the aforementioned display outputs, the laptops are equipped with two USB-C ports (one in Thunderbolt 4 format in Intel variants), two USB-A ports, a jack jack for audio devices, an Ethernet input and a card reader equipped with full-format SD cards. There's also a Full HD webcam with IR functionality, which can also be used with Windows Hello 4.0 to unlock the system via facial recognition.

The device is housed in an attractive Tongfang aluminum case, which is initially available in black anodized and later in white anodized as well. The torsion-resistant construction and reinforcements on frequently stressed parts such as the lid hinge make the case particularly strong. An illuminated keyboard with an edge-to-edge design and an RGB strip on the front complete the modern and stylish look of MIFCOM notebooks. The first four series models are available now with prices starting at €1,399 (Ryzen 7 8845HS with RTX 4050, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD storage).
