Thermal and electrical management are key strategic pillars of the globally active Mahle Group, headquartered in Stuttgart. The newly developed Mahle unit combines heat exchangers, cooling pumps, condensers, refrigeration units, sensors and valves into a single unit. This saves installation space, development effort and costs – while increasing efficiency: According to Maley, up to 20 percent greater range can be achieved using the unit in conjunction with a heat pump compared to a purely electric heater system. Furthermore, the electric fan is very quiet: an essential feature, not least in residential areas during charging operations, especially at night.
