Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn – Ashen Developers Reveals New Project

Newly Announced: Development studio A44, behind the development of the title Ashen, which was released in 2018, is working on an all-new open-world RPG, slated for release in 2022. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is being developed in collaboration with Publisher Kepler Interactive.

In the game we slip into the role of protagonist Nur Vanek to save the fate of mankind once again. Not only a variety of weapons and magic are used, but above all our animal companion named Enki, who always accompanies us around the world and adventures. Released in 2022 – also in Current Gen

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is slated to release later this year on PC (Epic and Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. In addition, the RPG will be playable on Xbox Game Pass on the day of publication. The new project from the A44 is clearly not just a next-generation title, but the first animations from the trailer look beautiful. Let’s hope that once there is a gameplay we see, our hopes will be confirmed.

The fact that Flintlock is slated for a release in 2022 also means that A44 Games has been working on the game for quite some time. That’s why we get a whole bunch of information directly about the disclosure. For example, A44 Games CEO Derek Bradley explains that Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn takes place in a world ruled by ancient gods. We can assume that we will also face them directly in the game.

Black Powder Against Gods

The gods may have been gone for thousands of years, but their return is affecting the world to a degree that threatens human existence. With the return of the gods, the ‘door to the afterlife’ has opened, and it is now open to an army of zombies who have escaped just that. As Noor, a member of the Alliance army, we go on a personal campaign with our little magical companion Enki to put an end to the zombies and the gods.

Although the Enki looks like a fox from the outside, it does not have much in common with the animal. Enki has magical abilities and knows how to use them in battle in order to always have the upper hand and also effectively supports. In the revenge campaign, we must visit different biomes in the open world of Flintlock. These include cave ruins, towering cities but also plenty of desert sand.

According to Bradley, the game’s setting is based on the eponymous “Flintlock fantasy genre,” which combines gunpowder-powered weapons and technology with black magic and the powers of ancient gods. For the first time in RPG history, humans have access to gunpowder and with it the strength in their hands to withstand the most powerful creatures of creation. The “ultimate clash” between magic and gunpowder is set to leave its mark everywhere when this battle is fought at Flintlock later in 2022.
