Facebook has expanded its export functionality: Users can now copy their posts into WordPress and Google Docs. The team responds to requests from competition monitoring groups through the “Data Portability Tool”.
Since last year, Facebook users have been able to convert their images to Google Photos and Slovenian cloud provider Kufr. With the tool, normal posts, videos and notes are now automatically encrypted and transferred to the new site.
Save your own data even if you leave Facebook
Under the menu item “Your Facebook Info” you can find the corresponding activity in the settings of your own Facebook account. There you must first identify yourself with your own Facebook password and then log in to the site to get the information. The jet pack plugin must be installed to import into WordPress.
The main requirement of competition monitoring and consumer advocacy is data portability. Export functions are intended to ensure that users can cancel an account without losing access to their own data. However, such a change is not entirely without losses, as interactions with other Facebook users cannot yet be transferred to the next site.
