Experience digital technology at Smartfeld in Buchs

Smart Field prepares children and youth to face the challenges of the digital age. The emphasis is on technology and creativity as well as the joy of discovery. In the courses, whole school classes are introduced to topics such as programming, robotics, mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT) and entrepreneurship. Interested students also have the opportunity to delve into the same topics in their spare time and deepen their knowledge.

Thanks to the new offer, talented and technically interested children and young people can be supported at an early stage. The comprehensive range of courses aims to make the digital world tangible and is aimed at pupils at primary, secondary one and secondary two levels. “We are grateful that Smartfeld will start operations at Hightech Campus Buchs in the next few weeks. The additional offer fits perfectly into our ecosystem,” says Marco Toma, President of the Hightech Campus Buchs Association.

“At Smartfeld we believe in a world where everyone has the skills and understanding to take advantage of the opportunities of the digital age. Our vision is to create an inspiring and accessible platform that enables children and youth to develop their creative abilities, develop future skills, and prepare to face the challenges of tomorrow.

“Our goal is to combine education and innovation and create a space where learning and experimentation become exciting adventures,” adds Thomas Rasteja, director of the new Smartfield site in Buchs. The new Smartfeld site in Werdenberg is supported by the IT Education Campaign in Canton St. Gallen. Smartfeld has already supported this with approximately 1.7 million francs between 2020 and 2023.
