Emden – Emden Clinic has invested in its own operating room equipment. From now on, 3D technology and high-resolution 4K displays will help in surgical operations. New operating towers, so-called laparoscopy towers, which have already been used in the past few weeks, are being used for this purpose, the company sponsoring the clinic announced.
Small incisions instead of large procedures
Laparoscopic surgery is minimally invasive abdominal surgery. With this procedure, surgeons perform only small interventions on the body on patients. The operation is then carried out inside the body using special tools and cameras. Large incisions can often be avoided, so patients experience less pain and recover more quickly. In addition, the risk of infection decreases.
Professor Dr. said: Gernot Kaiser, Chief Physician at the Clinic for General, Abdominal and Vascular Surgery at the Emden Clinic. Alternatives in the field of operational robotics are also currently being examined and included in the site's further investment planning, according to the sponsoring company.
