As Bethesda’s sci-fi role-playing saga Starfield gets underway, Todd Howard addressed the Reddit community on behalf of the development team and thanked them for their years of support. He also went so far as to say that Bethesda has “the smartest gaming fans”.
Tension Mounts: As many players await the release of Starfield, Bethesda darling Todd Howard thanked fans for their support. He also appeared as a longtime Reddit lurker around the same time.
Thanks from Todd Howard to the Starfield Community
“Hi everyone! I’ve been a lurker for a long time,” Howard explains in a post on the Starfield subsite. He continues, “A quick thank you for your passion and enthusiasm for Starfield. I remember how this subreddit began and as your enthusiasm grew it fueled all of us at Bethesda.”
But Howard didn’t stop there, boldly claiming that Bethesda fans are smarter than other gamers. “We like to say we have the smartest gaming fans, and I’m sure you do,” he continues, adding, “Starfield has been such a love letter to us, and the fact that you care so much about building a community around the game means the world to us.” We can’t wait for you to play it.”
After this cleaning of Starfield fans, the community reactions were of course very positive. Avid fans wonder how they are supposed to have the patience to survive the next few hours leading up to release. Many fans also expressed their gratitude to Howard and the Bethesda team. Meanwhile, the Reddit post is getting a lot of approval and has already garnered just over 30,000 upvotes. The community seems really excited.
Those fans who have purchased the Starfield Premium or Constellation Edition can start the RPG’s five-day early access phase as early as September 1st. All other players will launch on Regular Release Day September 6th for PC, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass.
