Apple still needs more time, because anyone who thinks the manufacturer will pack its own Face ID sensors for facial recognition under the iPhone’s screen this year is wrong. It can’t be ready until next year at the earliest.
For the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple prefers a somewhat funky design solution. According to the current state of knowledge, the notch of the upper screen will be deleted, and there will be two “holes” for the camera and Face ID sensors – one round and one in the form of a pill. There is no such thing with competition, holding back one or the other, but not both at the same time.
The iPhone with Face ID in the display will come in 2023 at the earliest
But with that said, hope for the subtle integration of Face ID sensors under the screen also dies. So this new technology is not ready to use, even more time is needed by Apple. This was also confirmed by Ross Young, an expert and in-house Apple. According to his information, Apple A step in the year 2023 at the earliest or not until 2024 You want, for example with the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro, if Apple sticks to the current nomenclature (source: Ross Young).
Two Apple technologies in comparison:
An assessment shared by another famous Apple expert with Ming-Chi Kuo. He also does not expect such an iPhone until 2023 at the earliest. If Apple can then hide the front camera, the dream of a flawless screen will be real. But for that, the camera should also be under the screen. The competition already has something like this, but the image quality at the moment is not at all satisfactory. Here, too, the technology still needs to be improved.
We don’t have to wait that long to get iOS 16, we already have some ideas for the next update:
Can Apple move so fast?
It will remain questionable whether Apple will actually use the two-hole design only as a transitional technology for one year at the end of the year, and then switch again in 2023. But this is certainly not impossible, because Apple can simply transfer this technology to the standard model of the iPhone 15 in 2023. Its predecessor, that is, the regular iPhone 14, will have to maintain the first notch. Either way: The iPhone notch days are numbered, whatever comes next.
