AMD and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora had a special relationship, as Team Red previously worked with Ubisoft to develop graphics cards specifically designed in conjunction with the game. Additionally, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was one of the first games to support AMD’s new FSR 3 upscaling technology, which also improves image generation. Therefore, according to AMD, the RDNA platform should be the best choice for players to enjoy Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
According to various sources, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is being described as one of the most beautiful games of 2023. With picturesque forests and impressive visual fidelity, it is destined to be a graphical masterpiece. Of course, to create a game with such cutting-edge graphics, you also need powerful hardware. AMD announced that the latest RDNA 3 GPUs from the Radeon RX 7000 family, combined with FSR 3, will deliver outstanding performance at all resolutions.
AMD published benchmark results for the game in an official blog post to demonstrate the performance the RDNA 3 array can deliver when combined with technologies like FSR 3 and Frame Gen. However, no comparison with the competition is available:
Tests conducted by Team Red show that all Radeon RX 7000 SKUs, from the Radeon RX 7600 to the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, are expected to deliver optimal performance at the required resolution. For example, the entry-level 1080P Radeon RX 7600 solution can achieve up to 109 fps in-game with ray tracing enabled and Ultra settings. On the other hand, the flagship Radeon RX 7900 XTX can deliver up to 148 fps at 4K resolution. Computerbase and PCGameshardware also tested several NVIDIA and AMD GPUs.
AMD’s collaboration with Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment has proven successful, as Team Red seems to have achieved maximum performance with good graphics. To ensure the best gaming experience, AMD recommends users to enable FidelityFX Supersolution (FSR 3). The company also provided users with recommended settings as a starting point, which you can see in the video.
