A recent report by videocardz.com talks about a new AMD hardware tech feature called “Smart Access Storage” (SAS) that will first be used, among other things, in a Corsair laptop. Behind the aforementioned Voyager laptop is supposed to be the previously seen Corsair Xenomorph laptop.
It previously attracted attention with an entry in the Geekbench database that revealed key data on installed devices. Accordingly, the laptop has a Ryzen 9 6900HX architecture sample with 8 cores and 16 threads at a base clock of 3.10GHz and a maximum boost of 4.724MHz. There is also a Radeon RX 6800M.
You know exactly what Smart Access Storage from AMD is all about videocardz.com, for which information about the new feature was leaked, but not leaked. However, according to the report’s assumption, the mapping could refer to the implementation of Microsoft Direct Storage API. Direct Storage sometimes significantly speeds up game load times and has been supported by Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S internal consoles since its launch in 2020. On PC, the feature has been coming a long time and has only been there since March. .
AMD’s Computex 2022 keynote, dated May 23, under the tagline “AMD Advancing the High-Performance Experience Experience,” can provide clarification on Smart Access Storage. This is also indicated by the planned launch of the Corsair Voyager laptop, which is scheduled for June.
