Aftermarket premiere of LWPC technology at the wheel of “Competition 2”

The ATS wheel brand, which belongs to Superior Industries, is expanding its portfolio with the “Competition 2” model. This new light-alloy wheel also marks the entry of the supplier’s so-called LWPC technology — short for Lightweight Performance Casting — into the aftermarket business. Because it is being used for the first time on an aftermarket wheel, even though the name already indicates that it is associated with reduced weight. Innovative technology ensures the unique performance of ‘Competition 2’: LWPC’s special casting process with a new type of cooling concept gives the alloy wheel optimal structural weight. On the other hand, the so-called undercut reduces this weight by removing the material behind the spokes ‘ says the wheel manufacturer. Regardless, the new product should be able to create a powerful look thanks to five symmetrical pairs of speakers. Shown in 8.5 x 19 inches, 9.5 x 19 inches, 9.0 x 20 inches and 11.0 x 20 inches, the wheel, available in Racing Black in a brushed finish, is suitable for various models of Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, VW or those of the Tesla brands ( 19 inches) and Audi (20 inches), says the supplier. According to him, more orders are “already being planned”. cm
