Adobe releases the latest update to its video products. Equipped with new innovations using artificial intelligence – PRONEWS: a comprehensive guide that collects all the information about video production

Ahead of IBC 2023, which will be held in Amsterdam starting September 15, 2023, Adobe has released to the media the September update that will be unveiled there.

Premiere Pro Updates

“Speech Boost” (beta) which removes noise from poorly recorded conversations with one click

Equipped with “Speech Enhancement” that uses artificial intelligence to scan weak conversation material and improve the voice. Noise removal was previously only possible with Premiere Pro, but with the power of AI, it will be possible to automatically classify audio and improve the sound quality of conversation segments to a professional studio level. The Speech Enhancement feature is said to be already included in the beta version of Adobe Podcast, an AI-powered audio tool that can be experienced on the web.

Automatic detection of “um” and “um” Filler word detection (beta)

Filler Word Detection has been added to Premiere Pro beta. This feature allows you to automatically detect and delete filler words such as “a” and “um”. In addition, all paddings and breathers can be deleted with one click. If there are filler words or pauses, the pace of the video will slow down a little, so until now I had to manually search for those places and cut them myself, but this time it detects them automatically, and it is now possible to delete them. It seems that this will greatly improve the efficiency of editing work.

Added 3 new mapping methods “Enhanced Color Processing”

Other updates include the addition of “Enhanced Color Processing.” Improvements to automatic tone mapping add three new mapping methods. Also, when playing files exported using QuickTime with Premiere Pro, the colors may shift slightly, but this has fixed the gamma issue.

“Accelerate the schedule”

Sometimes, complex timelines take a long time to display, and even when you move the playhead, sometimes they don’t move as you expected, but with this update, the UI rendering speed has been increased by 5 times. This allows you to work smoothly and in a way that suits your senses.

“Improved reliability”

This version is said to have achieved the highest reliability ever. For example, even if a third-party plugin caused a crash, it was sometimes not clear whether the plugin was the cause.

In this release, we have added the Effects Manager functionality that allows for quick troubleshooting and detection of incompatible plug-ins. Even in the unlikely event of a failure, automatic recovery allows you to seamlessly resume work on the project you left off. It introduced a background autosave feature in early 2023, which reduces the possibility of losing your work, and this update also makes it more reliable.

After Effects Updates

Create Real 3D Workspace Motion Graphics (Beta)

This update contains a lot of 3D related features. It is now equipped with a 3D workspace called “Real 3D Workspace”, which allows you to import 3D objects into After Effects.

You can import 3D models, apply animation, lighting, and shading, and render them in After Effects. For example, if the background is a MOV video and you want to move a 3D object in the foreground, you can adjust it within the workspace. We’re adding a true 3D workspace that lets you mix 3D and 2D elements. It is also equipped with a new high-performance, GPU-compatible 3D engine for realistic output.

AI-powered binoculars

Features a new AI model that hacks objects faster and more accurately on your device. So far, it has provided good working efficiency, but there were cases where the recognition was incorrect when crossing ends or crossing hairs. This version improves difficult rotoscoping, such as overlapping edges, hair, and transparent elements. The range of uses for rotoscoping seems to be expanding.

Frame.io updates

Compare, review and approve more flexible

Now you can compare all assets side by side, including videos, audio, images, PDFs, etc. It is also possible to write comments during the comparison, and zoom in and check details during the comparison.

Storage compatible

We have released the new enterprise feature for Frame.io “Frame.io Storage Connect”. So far, Frame.io has been uploaded to the attached cloud, but if the user subscribes to the AWS cloud, Frame.io will be able to attach and upload there. In the future, it will be possible to contract and use large-capacity cloud services at low cost.
