Besiege is a fantastic sandbox game that asks you to build innovative siege engines to overpower your enemies. Built on a complex physics engine, the game from Spiderling Studios was first released in its full version four years ago after five years of Early Access. The Splintered Sea expansion, taking the action to the high seas, has now been released.
Head to the high seas with Besiege: The Splintered Sea
In the past, movement in Besiege was limited to the ground and people built adventurous wheel and leg designs to make the machines move. In The Splintered Sea, it's now time to head to the ocean. There are ten new areas with new blocks, new challenges and the opportunity to dive into the water.
The addition of the water element makes Besiege's already chaotic core gameplay even more chaotic. Because the player now also has to take into account the physics of the ocean and all the things bobbing on the waves. This all may sound like mischievous fun, but the physics behind it are difficult. Players eventually have to deal with shape-based drag, realistically modeled buoyancy, and more.
