All-weather technology from Teroson Bautechnik works in temperatures down to -5°C

(March 1, 2024) Curing sealants on window joints requires careful planning and special products at low temperatures. All-weather Teroson technology can be used at temperatures down to -5°C. This is confirmed by the Institute for Window Technology eV (ift Rosenheim). The range has now been expanded to include Teroson FO 2 SK1 and SK2 facade films.

“In general, in very cold conditions, in terms of construction physics, many products become stronger and therefore less flexible. They are therefore difficult to use and may not adhere properly. However, by choosing a very flexible and very thin material as well as the adapted rheology of the adhesive “Henkel has succeeded in developing sealants that can be installed perfectly even at low temperatures,” says Alexander Bauer, Technical Director at Teroson Bautechnik.

Henkel's Teroson Bautechnik portfolio includes sealing films, foams and sealants for window and facade sealing, which have been tested by ift Rosenheim for use at ambient temperatures down to -5°C.

All-weather collection with 15 products

Recently, the all-weather Teroson Bautechnik range has been expanded to include the self-adhesive and vapor-permeable façade films Teroson FO 2 SK1 and SK2. It is equipped with Henkel's hybrid PSA technology, which provides good grip in the wet and operates at -5°C.
