When it comes to features, XMG has spared nothing. The gaming laptop comes with 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM and 1TB SSD connected to the fast M.2 port. An SSD ensures that you have enough storage space for your files, application programs, and game library. While the large memory allows you to open many applications and open many browser tabs at the same time without affecting the performance of the system.
To integrate the XMG NEO into your home network, use WiFi 6 (802.11ax) for wireless connection or alternatively use the RJ45 jack (2.5Gb LAN port) on the back for a wired connection. Other wireless devices such as headphones, mice or keyboards can be paired to your laptop thanks to Bluetooth 5.2 technology.
In addition, this gaming laptop has a USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen 2) with DisplayPort 1.4 but no power delivery option, two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen 1) and a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen 2) ) ) harbor. This caused some issues in our test: transmission was paused regularly and only achieved a maximum data transfer speed of 100-200Mbps. This pace is about the same as the slow Gen 1 port. We assume that this problem only occurs with our test device or it can be fixed with an update.
An HDMI 2.1 connection is available as an alternative to DisplayPort, so you can connect a monitor, TV, or gaming monitor to your laptop. The NEO also has a 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack connection.
Like most laptop models, the XMG NEO 15 also has a webcam for video conferencing or broadcasting. This is resolved in HD (1,280 x 720 pixels), but it cannot be turned off on the device side. A noise-cancelling microphone is also available, which is essential for video conferencing and live broadcasting.
The stereo system primarily emphasizes the highs, the mids and bass are unnoticeable, so listening to music is only a limited pleasure. However, the notebook is THX Spatial Audio certified for gaming headsets, and is therefore capable of reproducing ambient sound.
An SDXC card reader is available for photographers and videographers. However, the model does not have a fingerprint sensor, but this is not important.
