On December 19 (local time), Microsoft disclosed an issue that caused users to be unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network in some environments after applying the December security update.

Since the December Monthly Update was released on December 12, users on social media and the Microsoft community have reported that some Wi-Fi adapters for Windows 11 devices are unable to connect to the network, and users are using 802.11r. There may be a network issue. According to Microsoft, it has been confirmed that the preview update “KB5032288” released on December 4 and the December monthly update “KB5033375” may cause issues with Wi-Fi connectivity, which are 802.1x and the issue occurs when connected to a Wi-Fi network. -Fi. A business, educational institution, or public Wi-Fi network uses authentication, and it is unlikely to occur on a home network. Affected platforms are Windows 11 version 23H2 and Windows 11 version 22H2, no server products are affected.

Microsoft has begun to address this issue with KIR (Known Issue Rollback: the rollback is narrowed to the function where the issue occurs), and if it is a generic device that is not managed centrally in an organization, the rollback will be applied automatically within 24 hours. Restarting your device may implement the issue, so if you want to resolve the issue faster, try restarting your device.

Microsoft also began offering a fix on the 16th for an issue disclosed on December 4th, where printer names were being rewritten. In this issue, on Windows 11, Windows 10, and Windows Server, the printer name may be rewritten to HP, regardless of the printer manufacturer or model, and the HP Printer Utility software “HP Smart” may be installed automatically. Hotfix KB5034510 restores the previous printer information and icons and removes the application’s association with the rewritten HP printer information. Also uninstall HP Smart installed after November 25, 2023 in an environment where HP printers are not being used.
