Gaming is a great hobby, but what hardware fuels your gaming? Do you belong to the PC gamer camp or do products from Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or Valve occasionally tempt you away from your home computer?
Thanks to new technologies such as cross-gaming or cross-save, many worlds are now combined: starting in the morning on the PC, continuing to switch during your lunch break and finishing the game on the Playstation in the evening? Often no problem!
There are also a number of console exclusives – notably from Sony and Nintendo – that could entice even the most convinced former PC fanatics. Every year we like to hear from you on what platforms you play on other than PC.
PC only or consoles too? vote!
About a year ago, we asked you if, as part of the PC-savvy GameStar community, you already owned one or more consoles or if you were still loyal to your gaming PC. Even then, more than two-thirds of all respondents owned one or more consoles — mainly a Nintendo Switch.
Playstation 4 finally before 5
In 2022, Sony’s previous console was still one step ahead of its successor. Meanwhile, the status of PS5 deliveries has eased considerably. So the question arises: Was the next generation able to catch up or even overtake as a result?
And has Valve’s Steam Deck solidified the dominant digital platform on the nation’s living room couches? Or will the upcoming release of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom increase the number of Switch owners in relation to other consoles? Help us answer these and other questions with you and for you!
And feel free to write to us in the comments. How did your love for the console come about? Was it before the PC or did you later get involved with one or more of the platforms from Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo? Was it perhaps a certain game that changed you? And how do you actually gamble on console? A classic console, or maybe you use a mouse, keyboard, or other input devices?
