Week 17/21: Kaplan’s farewell to the blizzard, cyberpunk leaks and more

Topics of the week. Sources: Blizzard, Activision, CD Projekt Red, Riot Games, and Coffee Stain

Welcome to the latest weekly review on Gaming-Grounds.de! Today we look back together from April 19 to April 25, 2021. We are presenting you this format for the 17th time in this calendar year. On the one hand, this means, of course, that it is Sunday again, but on the other hand, April is almost behind us and it will start in the second third of the year in a few days.

But what topics have we been particularly interested in over the past week? Of course, that’s what it’s about right now. The past seven days have included the major revelations and the start of Season 3 of Call of Duty Warzone, blatant news of Jeff Kaplan’s departure for Blizzard after more than 19 years and news of the surprise hitting Valheim. There has also been a new leak of upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 and Riot’s new VALORANT first-person shooter map.

Enjoy while reading!

5. Cyberpunk 2077: A new upcoming content leak has appeared

A new thread has appeared on Reddit in which the user wants to know many details about plans and content coming from CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk 2077. He also added sources to his theses, so that assumptions at first seemed quite reasonable. What do you think about the speculation? Will we see new content in June?

3. Valhaim: A new patch at last solves a big problem

Finally news about Valheim! After the edgy initial post-release phase, the interest and hype surrounding the surprise hit is put into perspective. But developers are now commenting on the upcoming content, the announced and expected “Hearth and Home” update, and the reasons why the current patch is coming for so long:

2. Call of Duty Warzone: Nuke Event begins soon

Call of Duty: Warzone got a new map for the first time since the integration of Standalone Battle Royale! As we already know from Fortnite, Activision held a live event here as well, during which the map was almost completely destroyed and now shines in a brand new look from the 1980s. It is Summer:

1. Fracture: Jeff Kaplan leaves Blizzard

The week’s news was a real blast on Tuesday evening. As Blizzard, Team Overwatch and Jeff Kaplan himself announce, the former game designer for World of Warcraft and the face behind Overwatch will leave the employer after more than 19 years. While his successor has already been identified as Overwatch Director, we don’t yet know where Kaplan himself is heading. All the details:
