Emirates said it held its 2024 Passenger Sales Conference in Dubai this week, with more than 850 members of its global sales team in attendance.
The event was reportedly to discuss the company's strategic direction and prepare the teams for future growth plans.
Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Operations Officer at Emirates Airlines, highlighted future expansion plans and the importance of new technologies to ensure the company's competitive advantage. The airline is also expected to continue to grow in the coming years in line with the ambitions of Dubai's D33 plan.
Emirates Chief Operating Officer said: “Our ambitions for the growth of the partnership are in line with Dubai’s D33 strategy, which aims to (…) attract companies, tourists and investors from all over the world.”
As part of the D33 economic agenda, Dubai wants to “drive forward sustainable economic growth” through “new approaches”. The goal is to double the emirate's GDP by 2033. Dubai aims to become “the fastest, safest and most connected city in the world.”
Focus on partner airlines
During the conference, executives discussed the airline's strategic priorities, including passenger business development, customer loyalty and revenue management.
Other topics included the Emirates brand and the current status of the construction of Al Maktoum International Airport. Airline partnerships such as the partnership with Flydubai were also discussed. Emirates Airlines is now increasingly relying on connectivity and code sharing.
Emirates Airlines achieved record profits in the last financial year. The airline is constantly expanding its route network, most recently to include destinations such as Bogota and Madagascar.
To meet demand, Emirates Airlines is investing billions to modernize its fleet. As is the case with Lufthansa, Boeing is facing problems increasing capacity due to delivery delays.
