Spokko, a member of the CD PROJEKT family, announced Friday, July 2, 2021 that The Witcher: Monster Slayer, a location-based augmented reality role-playing game, will be released July 21 for iOS and Android.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer – Developed and published by Spokko – is set long before the history of The Witcher series of games by CD PROJEKT RED. At a time when monsters roamed the country freely and in great numbers, the relatively new role of the “magician” had become indispensable across the continent.

In Monster Slayer, players will experience how the world around them transforms into the dark fantasy world known from the world of The Witcher. As a newly trained magician, you will use location-based gameplay and advanced augmented reality features to track down and hunt down the bloodthirsty monsters lurking nearby.

This is how the game works

The Witcher: Monster Slayer is a location-based RPG with augmented reality technology that challenges you to become an elite monster hunter. As you explore the real world around you, each step leads you deeper into a dark fantasy adventure.

Track monsters, learn their habits, and prepare for battle. Choose the best weapons and armor and prepare powerful witch potions to be well prepared for the upcoming battles. As you gain experience and face increasingly dangerous opponents, you will of course have to keep improving your skills, equipment and tactics to become one of the most famous monster hunters of all time.

In preparation for the release of Monster Slayer on July 21, Spokko also announced that Android users can now pre-register on Google Play to begin their journey on the track as soon as the game launches. By pre-registering, players receive the Kaer Morhen Steel Sword – added to their inventory immediately at the start of their adventure – with which they can gain 10 percent more experience points in-game with each monster killed.
