“The Tortured Poets Oath” drops at midnight. What to know about Taylor Swift's latest album

How to stream Taylor Swift's new album, Tortured Poets Oath

You'll be able to stream the Tortured Poets section on your streaming service of choice. Both Spotify and Apple Music subscribers will be able to stream the album's standard songs on 12 a.m. ET on April 19, 2024.

We don't know exactly when the bonus tracks will be available on streaming, but they are currently available on CD and vinyl formats. Read below to learn more about each different version of the new album.

What do you know about the alleged leak of the tortured poets section?

On April 18, just one day before the album was scheduled to be released, the BBC reported that there had been a leak of Swift's latest album. The leak has neither been confirmed nor denied by Swift's team, but fans online have encouraged each other not to listen to the new album until Swift's official release.

Additional confirmed songs include The Bolter, The Albatross, The Black Dog and The Manuscript. These additional tracks won't be as easy to find as you might expect. Swift distributed each bonus track via separate CD and vinyl releases.

Where to find all the additional songs for the Tortured Poets section

There are four different confirmed versions of TTPD, named after the bonus track, and each will include: Poulter, Albatross, Black dog And the manuscript. Swift has encouraged fans to pre-order these releases from her website, but CD and vinyl versions of the album are also available at Target.

The majority of the various releases are available as CDs, including The Bolter, The Albatross and The Black Dog. The fourth variant version bears the name of the bonus song Manuscript, available as CD and on vinyl in “Phantom Clear” or “Ghost White” only at Target. Swift also held pre-orders for vinyl packages of the other various releases (The Bolter, The Albatross, and The Black Dog) that included a deluxe CD and cassette tape, but these were only available until April 12.

In every post Taylor Swift makes on social media, she includes the same pre-order connection, which includes other retailers besides its website and Target, such as Barnes and Noble. At Target, you can buy each CD individually for $14, and The Manuscript Vinyl is $46. There is currently no place where you can find all four bonus songs on the same CD.

When can I play the additional songs for the Tortured Poets section?

Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department, will be released on October 23 Friday 19 April. It has also announced four separate different versions of the album, each containing one of the aforementioned new bonus songs placed at the end of the 16-song tracklist. Currently, these bonus songs are only available on CD (except for The Manuscript which is also available on vinyl). We don't know when these bonus tracks will be released via streaming.

This type of release is not unusual for Swift. With Midnight, her last new album that was not a re-recording, she released a bonus track called “You're Losing Me” exclusively on the deluxe CD version of the album.
