The RLCS is back and kicking off the spring semester with its first ever NA Regional. Complex games grab the crown.
Barely a month after the exciting Winter Split Major event in San Diego, the RLCS team is back this past weekend with North America’s first Spring Regional Festival.
Rocket League fans have been in for some surprises, renewed teams and a new winner. Complexity Gaming managed to confirm their recent strong form and literally snatched the win.
Rocket League: Spring Split’s first regional
The beginning of spring is also the beginning of the hot phase of the Rocket League calendar. Spring Split is the last chance for teams to improve their position in the standings while still securing one of the coveted places for the World Championships in Dusseldorf in August.
The course of the season so far in the American region speaks volumes for Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, FaZe Clan and Complexity Gaming, who have managed to rack up the most points by far and can only be pulled out of the crucial event spots in Deep Stagnation.
In the first round, there was only one surprise when G2 Esports lost to SUP 3:2 and had to go to the bottom bracket. The second round followed FaZe, who lost to Spacestation Gaming and after another loss to G2, secured the first regional spot with a disappointing ninth and twelfth place. final place.
Meanwhile, Gen.G and Complexity confidently made it to the final of the upper category, where Complexity managed to beat 4:3 in a first-class match. Gen.G then ended OpTic Gaming’s career, hoping to avenge the complication in the Grand Finals.
In a best-of-7 series, it was 2-1 for Gen.G in the meantime, but in the end Complication 4-2 prevailed thus celebrating its first RLCS victory since the team moved from the South to North America.
They confirm the good level with which they advanced to the semi-finals at the Winter Major, but are still behind FaZe and Gen.G in the overall standings.

But beyond that, things are getting to the point. With Worlds in mind, Spacestation Gaming and v1 have slim chances of knocking out G2 from last place in the Worlds Qualifiers. However, for the main jump finale, everything is still open.
So it will remain exciting in the coming weeks.
