Review of the astronomical phenomenon in 2022
Focused astronomical phenomena and observation results
January 4: Quadruple meteor shower
In 2022, the maximum expected time and moonlight, near ideal conditionsI was. When I watched for 15 minutes on the porch before dawn,I was able to see a meteor making a long, bright trail!
May 1: Jupiter and Venus approach each other
A phenomenon with high expectations due to the approach of two bright planets. I was planning to go camping with my “Sommelier of the Stars®” friends in a place with good observational conditions and aim to take pictures with a telescope and a good camera, but unfortunately it was raining and I couldn’t see it.
July 10: The occultation of the Juba Delta star in the forehead of Scorpio
I can see it through a telescope. Juba is a second-magnitude star, so it can be seen with the naked eye, but on that day, the moon was bright and fuzzy.
July 21: Mars eclipse
In Tokyo, I was only able to see the rising and setting of the moon while Mars was hidden by the moon, but the altitude was too low, 7 degrees, so I couldn’t notice it.
August 13: Perseid meteor shower
Originally, the maximum expected time was 10:00 in the morning. The conditions were not good with the full moon on the 12th, and the weather was bad on the peak day. Although I noticed it the next day, I could not see the meteor.
November 8: Total Lunar Eclipse and Uranus Eclipse
There were so many sunny places around the country, and we were able to see the whole process, so it was a blast. I was worried if I could see the Uranus eclipse during totality with a low magnification telescope with an aperture of 60.I was able to see the whole process from Uranus infiltrating his appearance!
Uranus is positioned just below the Moon during totality, and this is an image just before infiltration.
The “Total Lunar and Uranus Eclipse” can be seen across Japan on Tuesday, November 8!
December 1: closest approach to Mars
Mars isn’t only visible on this day, so I’ve enjoyed watching it gradually brighten in 2022. Until January next year, it looks like it’ll still be interesting.
December 14th: Geminid meteor shower
2022 was a successful year. Although there was little moonlight, the maximum forecast was 22:00, which is a good time for observation.7 meteors were seen in 30 minutes of observation around 22:00.3 of which were brighter than the first class!
On the 14th, the Geminid meteor shower will peak! Watch the year-end astronomical show
What are the 3 most important astronomical phenomena in 2022?
In Nazism, we also gave observational information about the “supermoon” and the “magic meteor shower”, but this is all about astronomical phenomena and the results of which had high expectations. So, here are the top 3 astronomical phenomena in 2022.
- Total lunar eclipse and Uranus eclipse
- Gemini meteor shower
- Quadruple meteor shower
