Team Brazil were champions of the 2021 Cali Junior Pan American Games, and their first assignment was after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Brazilian performance was excellent, with 164 medals.
Of these, 59 are gold, 49 silver, and 56 copper. In addition, Team Brazil won 77 submissions for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
“We finished the Olympic cycle with the best results in our history, despite facing a scenario of many difficulties, and started the new cycle in the best possible way. We were able to deliver the quality of our athletes and our work, as we finished 2021 with a golden key,” said Paolo Wanderley, President of the Football Association.
“We have reached the end of the Junior Pan American Games with a very positive balance. All the goals set have been achieved. We have won 77 places in Pan de Santiago 2023, we have been able to monitor and identify young talents that have distinguished themselves, and finally, we cannot miss the most important thing: we have won the competition” Marco La Porta, Head of Mission in Cali, celebrated.
The Brazilians were also the biggest medalists in the competition. At just 17 years old, swimmer Stephanie Balduccini won seven gold medals, followed by fellow athletes Brno Correa and Ana Carolina Vieira, both with 5 golds and one silver.
