Zelda star broke Spider-Man in 1988 – a feature she’d known for years brought him back into gaming

The apparent difficulty of the early Zelda games was too much for Chris Pine’s Spider-Man. But more than 30 years later, the 43-year-old has discovered that games can be fun, too — and he’s excited about the retro feature.

Who is the person you are talking about? California actor Chris Pine made his big screen debut in the 2004 comedy Princess Diaries 2. Recently, he was heard as Spider-Man in Into the Spider-Verse.

During a press tour for his latest movie, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the 43-year-old opened up about his love-hate relationship with video games in March (via 3D games).

What is the actor’s relationship with Zelda? As Chris Pine admits to People magazine, he failed mercilessly with early Zelda games: “I gave up on video games in 1988 when I failed over and over at Zelda.”

The actor said it was really important to him at the time to be good at Zelda. The failure really shocked him. As a result, he has not touched a game for over 30 years. People magazine posted the excerpt on TikTok, and we’ve included it for you here:

Which game has made this evolution now? Chris Pine reported that he played Mario Kart with some kids a few days before the interview: it was incredibly fun.

One feature particularly excited the actor: controllers are rocking these days! This ability was actually granted to the Nintendo 64 console with the Rumble Pak in 1997 and has long been a part of the feel of the game for many gamers, but Chris Pine has missed out on this feat until now.

In fact, the 43-year-old had so much fun that he wished he could keep playing. However, the children eventually got bored.

Maybe Chris Pine can sit down with fellow Hollywood star Henry Cavill (Superman, The Witcher) and hammer out some game recommendations. Because he’s known for being a nerd – who not all of his guests can relate to:
