Star Wars Celebration 2023: Everything has been announced at Lucasfilm’s studio showcase

Celebration of Star Wars 2023 has officially arrived, and the Lucasfilm studio showcase is kicking off the event with the promise of revealing a lot about the future of that galaxy far, far away. We know The Mandalorian and Andor will be discussed, but there are sure to be many surprises in store.

The Mandalorian: Season 3 Episode 7 Clip teases the return of the beloved Star Wars character

Guests in attendance at the Lucasfilm studio fair were treated to a clip from next week’s seventh episode of The Mandalorian season 3, and teased the return of the beloved Star Wars character.

The clip opens with Elijah Kane talking to Moff Gideon on a hologram, and the character played by Giancarlo Esposito telling that “Karga was with the help of the Mandalorian.” Gideon then says he will deal with them before speaking to Captain Ballion about Admiral Thrawn’s whereabouts.

“Admiral Thrawn is missing,” says Moff Gideon.

Balyon replies, “With respect, our only hope of success depends on the confidentiality of his return.”

“I never heard the word Thrawn. I talked about his imminent return. Maybe it’s time we look forward to new leadership.”

Andor Season 2 aims to premiere in August 2024

While we didn’t get an exact date for when Andor Season 2 will arrive on Disney+, series creator Tony Gilroy has confirmed that the team plans to get it ready for an August 2024 premiere date on Disney+.

Gilroy said, “We start shooting in November. We’re about halfway there. We’ll shoot through August. We’re on schedule. Finish in August, spend another year in the mail. I think we’ll come out the following August.”

We also got some clips from Season 2, and we hear Mon Mothama say, “If we don’t stand together, we’re going to get crushed.” It also showed Cassian, Deidra, Cyril, and Bex.

Gilroy also discussed how knowing this show ended with a second season was great for the team.

“If you know you’re going to finish, that really helps,” Gilroy said. There are a lot of shows, shows that I love, and they’re trying to figure out where to go. We know where we’re going. It’s a kind of jailbreak: you know where you’re going.”

Star Wars: The Acolyte Is ‘Frozen Meets Kill Bill’, first details revealed, 2024 release window

Star Wars: The Acolyte, the upcoming Disney+ series set at the end of the High Republic era, will make its way to Disney+ in 2024. While we haven’t set an exact date, the series’ cast and crew stopped by through Star Wars Celebration to share some details on what might be next. that fans would expect.

Star Wars: Acolyte series creator Leslie Headland shared that she’s always wanted to “delve into the Star Wars universe and tell the story of this whole world that I loved so much from the villains’ perspective.”

“What I showed Kathleen Kennedy was Frozen meets Kill Bill. Shockingly, she didn’t kick me off the premises,” said Headland. It’s High Republic near the start of the prequels and an exciting part of the schedule. “That’s when the bad guys are outnumbered. They’re the underdogs. I’m really excited that you guys are getting to see things that you haven’t seen in live events yet.”

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is an upcoming Disney+ series set to arrive in 2023. Star Wars Celebration hasn’t revealed an exact date, but it did share the first trailer.

The trailer for Skeleton Crew, which stars Jude Law and focuses on a cast of younger characters, honed in much on the show’s Goonies inspiration. This was shown with children in class, passing through a residential area, running through the woods, and much more.

Lucasfilm has also confirmed directors for the series, which include Jon Watts, David Lowery, Daniels, Jake Schreyer, Bryce Dallas Howard and Lee Isaac Chung.

The Mandalorian Creators on Ahmed Best’s Famous Return to Star Wars: ‘It Was a Big Decision’

The Mandalorian showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni stopped by Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase to discuss the “big decision” to cast Ahmed Best as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq in The Mandalorian and have him be the one to save Grogu from the events of Order 66.
