While Google is rolling out Android 14 update for Pixel users, Samsung also announced that it has released One UI 6.0 Beta with Android 14 for Galaxy Z Fold 5 users.
The same One UI 6.0 interface was introduced on the Galaxy S23 series in August, but its rollout on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 foldable phone has been delayed. With this update, it seems that the problem that was preventing the service from being available has finally been resolved.
Android Central According to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the changelog for the new One UI 6.0 features appears to be much larger than initially expected, and we’ve picked out some of them here.
- The layout of the Quick Panel has changed to make it easier to access the features you use most often. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth now have dedicated buttons at the top of the screen, while visual features like dark mode and the eye protection shield have been moved to the bottom.
- Additional quick settings buttons appear in the central customizable area.
- Start by dragging the item on your Home screen with one hand, and use your other hand to move it to the screen you want to drop it on.
- The default font in One Ul 6.0 now has a sleeker, more modern look. If the default font is selected in the settings, the new font will be displayed. If you use a different font, that font will still appear after you upgrade to One Ul 6.0.
- Instead of minimizing the pop-up when you go to the Recent screen, it now stays open after you leave the Recent screen, allowing you to continue working.
- The emojis that appear on your phone in messages, social media posts, and more now have a new look.
- The Weather Insights widget now contains more information about your local weather. Check the forecast for severe thunderstorms, snow, rain, etc.
- You can add a custom camera widget to your home screen. You can set each widget to launch in a specific shooting mode and save photos to your favorite albums.
- In Photo mode and Pro mode, a resolution button has been added to the quick settings at the top of the screen, allowing you to quickly change the resolution of captured images.
- You can choose from three levels to improve the image quality of the photos you take. Select “Maximum” to capture the image at the highest quality. Choosing the smallest will allow you to take photos as quickly as possible. You can also select “Medium” which provides the best balance between speed and image quality.
- Once you crop something from a photo, you can easily save it as a sticker and use it later when editing the photo or video.
- Studio is a new project-based video editor that allows for more complex and powerful editing. You can also save an incomplete project and continue editing it later. You can view your entire project as a timeline containing multiple video clips. The multi-layer structure allows you to easily add clips, stickers and other objects and adjust their position and length.
- The Samsung Health home screen has been completely revamped. Bold fonts and colors make it easier to see the information you need most. Your workout results are displayed at the top of the screen, giving you more feedback on your daily goals in terms of steps, activity, water and food.
Please note that this update is still in beta, so to use One UI 6.0 Beta on your Galaxy Z Fold 5, you will need to register through the Samsung Members app.
